UEBT’s Biodiversity Barometer 2024
Since 2009, 15 years of UEBT research have highlighted the amazing growth of biodiversity awareness, with more companies and brands taking a stand in favour of sourcing with respect for people and biodiversity.
In 2024 we worked with an independent research firm again on a worldwide survey that takes a deep dive into consumers' biodiversity aspirations and expectations.
Over 86,000 people spanning 16 countries have been surveyed since 2009, and their responses have provided valuable insights to companies and governments working on biodiversity.
In recent years, consumers have become more demanding, asking brands for transparent information on the impact of ingredient sourcing on biodiversity, and asking companies to inform them of the steps they can take to reduce consumption and make more sustainable choices.
“Consumers feel strongly and personally connected to biodiversity, and they wish to see it protected and regenerated. They expect companies to take clear steps to do this, but as of now they do not see proof of this”
