The UEBT Policy & Sector Transformation team is looking for an:
Ethical Sourcing Expert – Living Income and Sector Transformation
Main Responsibilities:
Under the oversight of the Director of Policy and Sector Transformation, the Ethical Sourcing Expert - Living Income and Sector Transformation will have the following main responsibilities:
1. Lead our work on living income, fair pricing, and cost calculation
Develop and apply tools and methodologies for cost calculation, fair pricing, and living income.
Train and support UEBT members and partners to implement these tools and methodologies.
Provide internal support and guidance across UEBT programmes.
Develop projects and implement project activities on these topics, ensuring delivery and reporting in line with timelines, budget, and expectations.
Represent UEBT in relevant working groups, initiatives, and discussions.
2. Contribute to UEBT sectoral transformation activities
Support the coordination of various UEBT member or multi-stakeholder working groups that drive responsible sourcing practices at sectoral level.
Participate in the monitoring of progress, management of communications, and follow-up on decisions and deliverables.
Assist in meeting preparations, documentation, and facilitation, as needed .
Promote information sharing across UEBT programmes on relevant sectoral transformation activities.
3. Cross-cutting responsibilities
Act as liaison between the Policy and IT teams to ensure digital tools meet programme needs .
Contribute to internal learning, planning, and coordination processes.
Support other activities of the policy team and UEBT as needed.
Candidate Profile:
We’re looking for someone with technical expertise, relevant experience, and a practical, solutions-oriented mindset. You enjoy collaborating across teams and with external partners, and you bring structure, rigour, and a sense of purpose to your work.
Required Experience and Skills
Advanced degree in business, supply chain management, sustainability, environmental sciences, or a related field.
At least 10 years of professional experience working in or with companies on sourcing, supply chains, or sustainability — ideally in natural ingredients.
Hands-on experience with cost calculation and pricing methodologies at producer level, including living income methodologies.
Familiarity with platforms, tools, and trends related to living income and responsible sourcing.
Experience supporting multistakeholder or sectoral initiatives.
Strong project management and coordination skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a small, mission-driven organisation.
Excellent communication skills and fluency in English (French or Spanish is a plus).

This is a full-time, remote position, preferably based in one of the following European countries: Netherlands, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy. Candidates working from the Netherlands are expected to come to the UEBT office on Wednesdays. A valid working permit for EU is required.
