UEBT is a non-profit association that promotes sourcing with respect. We work to regenerate nature and secure a better future for people through ethical sourcing of ingredients from biodiversity. UEBT aims to contribute to a world in which all people and biodiversity thrive, by setting good practices for how companies and their suppliers source specialty ingredients for the food, cosmetics and natural pharmaceutical sectors. UEBT is internationally recognized for its work advancing business contributions to sustainable development goals.

UEBT has a small team of dedicated professionals in various countries around the world. It is looking for a highly motivated responsible sourcing professional to support its verification team on a temporary basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct local supply chain verifications with a focus on Europe

  • Coordinate UEBT supply chain assessments with UEBT clients

  • Coordinate assessments that are conducted by local UEBT auditors (selection, guidance, quality control)

  • Review of assessment reports, prepare client presentations and organize client feedback meetings

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience with supply chain auditing

  • Good understanding and working experience with sustainability standards and promoting responsible sourcing practices, with strong preference for botanical supply chains

  • Ability to work independently and interact with a wide range of stakeholders

  • Proficiency in English and French is required, knowledge of additional such as Arabic, Spanish, German and/or Portuguese would also be an asset.

  • Higher education related to issues such as agronomy, sustainability, natural resource management.

  • Good writing and analytical skills

  • Team-player  

The position starts as soon as possible, ideally on 1 September for an initial period of 9 months. This is a full-time position based in Europe with preference for France, Germany, Italy, Austria, UK or the Netherlands. Unless based in the Netherlands, the new team member is expected to work from home. A valid working permit for EU is required. Frequent travel is required for this position.
