Carnauba (Copernicia prunifera) is a species of palm tree endemic to the semi-arid region of North-eastern Brazil, that grows wild in two high-biodiversity, endangered ecosystems: the Cerrado and the Caatinga.

This study provides details on the social and biodiversity challenges and opportunities in the Carnauba sector, and shares insights into how the Initiative for Responsible Carnauba contributes to securing a more responsible supply of Carnauba and supporting local people and biodiversity.
